Woodgas is some pretty cool stuff, it is a gas made from combusting any carbon based fuel in a oxygen controlled environment. A more in depth overview can be found in the what is woodgas page. You may find the featured members pages of interest.
Wayne Keith has been doing woodgas for quite a while and has some great accomplishments in the field.
Mike LaRosa was a pioneer in the use of woodgas in fuel injected vehicles.
Jim Mason developed a great open source woodgas system, The Gasifer Experimenters Kit, The GEK for short

The links page has a lot of useful sites to gather more information on woodgas. I highly recommend the yahoo woodgas group, the files section has some documents that I consider required reading. I have uploaded some of what I consider the most important documents on woodgas and it's use in internal combustion engines on the download files page.
