Wayne Keith is my woodgas mentor

Wayne makes woodgas look easy. His units look nice too. Woodgas is a fact of life for him. He owns and operates a small saw mill and farm in Alabama and uses his waste wood to power his two trucks. Both are considered daily drivers and he has put a lot of miles on woodgas, in fact I doubt anyone in the United States has driven as many miles on wood as he has. It is a good possibility that he has more miles on wood than any of our European woodgas users. He has always taken the time to answer my questions and tell me what has worked for him.

Wayne has been busy as of late he has been sponsored by Auburn University in Alabama to complete a coast to coast run fueled by biomass. In anticipation of his trip he has purchased a newer Dodge pickup and has hade both of his Dodges repainted an nice green color.

While on his coast to coast trip Wayne will be stopping in Berkley, Ca to compete in a green fuel energy race to Las Vegas. The race is on September 29th 2008. I'll keep you posted on the results.

Update a little late...... February 03, 2009

Well Wayne did not take first place on the road race, he took second. I know Wayne can hold his head high though. He got beat by a guy running refined vegetable oil straight off of the store shelf. This really violated the whole sprit of the race, in my humble opinion. I know bartering was allowed, but to park a hopped up street legal go-cart in front of a grocery store and bribe the people going in with free t shirts if they bring you out a quart of veggie oil. That was a sham....... I have not updated this page in a while because I had to cool my jets before I wore something real bad!
